Active Games for Kids that are Super Fun!
I am a blog ambassador for Lakeshore and am compensated for my work. I received product free of charge, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.
These active games for kids are so much fun! If you are looking for games that kids will be begging to play and that will get them moving, you must check these out.
From arcade staples to classic carnival games, your kids will have a blast with these awesome active games that get kids moving. These should definitely be on your Christmas list for the kids this year!
Active Games for Kids that are Always Moving
When this Easy-Build Ski-Ball Project Kit arrived in the mail, I was more excited than my kids. This classic arcade game is my favorite. I couldn’t wait to build it with the kids and then get to playing.
The kit comes with kid-friendly tools and instructions so that they can get in on the building action too. I will say, my son is 6.5 years old and definitely still needed our help to build this. So you will want to at least plan on helping with the construction.
The kids loved being able to help build it and it turned out to be a fun family activity for a Saturday afternoon.
Once it was built, we all were super excited to play. Let me tell you, this thing is AWESOME! It works just like a ski-ball machine. The balls roll up the ramp easily, come back out through a hole and slide right back down so you can use them again.
We all absolutely love it! I am thinking of buying one for all of my nieces and nephews this Christmas. I know they would enjoy it just as much. It is definitely going to be a hit with every kid that visits our house.
We are also enjoying our fair share of family ski-ball tournaments!
Carnival Games for Kids
Another awesome game we got from Lakeshore was this Carnival Knockdown Challenge. Not only is this game super fun, but it also opens the door for lots of fantastic STEM learning.
Children can stack the target booths in a ton of different ways and the launcher has 5 angle settings and 3 height settings. This means that kids can experiment with engineering, math and science concepts in a hands-on way.
Both of my kids are having a blast with this. They love moving the target booths around and trying to hit the targets in all different ways with the launcher.
Learning with Movement Activities
This Magnetic Bug Toss activity is another fun carnival game that my kids are enjoying. Kids can work on so many important skills while also moving and having fun. Win-win!
It has letters on one side and numbers on the other, so it is really versatile. I’ve used it to work on number and letter identification with my 4-year-old. It would also be a great way to teach letter sounds in an active way. Children can throw the bug on the mat and say the sound of the letter they land on.
I even use it to teach my 6-year-old as well. He throws one bug on the number side and then another and then adds the two numbers together.
You could also use it to teach sight words. Try to throw the bugs on the letters to spell a sight word. Or can you make a word with the letters you landed on?
I love that we can pull this out and use it to learn a wide variety of skills while having fun and being active!
I highly recommend all of these active games for kids. They are well worth the money and will lead to tons of fun and learning too!
