Valentine’s Day Beginning Sounds Write the Room

This Valentine’s Day beginning sounds write the room activity is going to add fun and movement to your literacy centers this February.

It gives kids a chance to get up and move around the room while learning the alphabet, letter sounds, and letter formation.

It is jam-packed with learning opportunities!

Differentiated Valentine’s Day Alphabet Activity

Work on the first half of the alphabet or the second depending on which letters and sounds each group of students needs to work on.

You could even cut the recording sheets in half for students who would benefit by having less letters to work on at once.

The recording sheets are also differentiated for you. There is a version with a tracing guide for each letter.

This is helpful to students who need more support with deciphering which letter is being represented on the heart cards.

I also chose to put the letter on the cards because I think most students can benefit from having a little more support anyway.

Students who are able to determine the beginning sound and letter represented on the heart cards will still benefit from the extra practice and reinforcement offered with this activity.

If you really don’t like the letters being on the heart cards, you could also cover them with a sticker or something like that.
