St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Find and Color the Letter Sheets
Grab these rainbow find and color the letter sheets to work on letter recognition and letter sounds this spring! Perfect for alphabet centers!
Rainbow Find and Color the Letter
The amazing thing about these find and color the letter pages is that they can be differentiated for students at all different levels.
These rainbow find and color sheets are offered in color or black and white. Then, there are printable shamrock cards with corresponding uppercase letters on them. I have also included two sets of beginning sounds picture cards to match each letter.
This allows for simple differentiation. Students working on letter identification can use the letter cards and students who are ready to work on letter sounds and beginning sound isolation, can use the picture cards. In addition, you can mix them up and use both. There are lots of ways to use this resource!
This activity is perfect for teaching upper and lowercase letter recognition with preschool and kindergarten students during small groups or independent center times.
If you have students who don’t like to color, try this!
Place the rainbow pages into write and wipe pockets or laminate them. Then, give the students a dry-erase marker to cross off the letters they find instead of coloring them.
I also included a full-color rainbow sheet for students to use manipulatives on. Give them snap cubes or counters to cover the letters on the sheet as they find them.

- Crayons or dry-erase markers
This activity requires very little prep. Just print the pages and cut out the cards. Feel free to laminate the cards for more durability.
No Prep Option
Don’t want to prep the shamrock cards? No problem! Use an alphabet manipulative like letter tiles or letter magnets. If you do that, this activity requires no prep. Just print the mats and you will be ready to go!
How to Use the St. Patrick’s Day Alphabet Activity
Place the pile of shamrock letter cards or the beginning sound picture cards in front of your students. They will pull one card at a time and determine what they see. Then, they will locate the matching lowercase letter on their mat and color it in (or cover it up).
They continue drawing cards until all of their letters are colored!
Because of the simple and easy-to-follow steps, many kids will be able to do this independently – which makes it perfect for your literacy centers or for independent morning work. Especially when you consider the fact that it can be differentiated for lots of different levels and abilities and can be modified for kids who don’t like coloring.
