Easter Egg Find and Color the Letter Alphabet Hunt
Use these Easter Egg Find and Color the Letter Mats to delight your preschool and kindergarten students will a fun alphabet hunt this spring!
Easter Egg Find and Color the Letter
The fantastic thing about these free printable find-and-color-the-letter pages is that they can be differentiated for students at various levels.
They are offered on black-and-white sheets, but there is a color version, too. Then, there are printable egg cards with corresponding uppercase letters. I have also included two sets of picture cards with beginning sounds to match each letter.
This allows for simple differentiation. Students working on letter identification can use the letter cards, and students ready to work on letter sounds and beginning sound isolation can use the picture cards. In addition, you can mix them up and use both. There are many ways to use this resource to work on phonics skills!
This activity is perfect for teaching upper and lowercase letter recognition with preschool and kindergarten students during small groups or independent center times as we head into spring.
If you have students who don’t like to color, try this!
Place the Easter egg worksheets into write and wipe pockets or laminate them. Then, give the students a dry-erase marker to cross off the letters they find them.
I also included two full-color mats for students to use manipulatives on. Give them snap cubes or mini erasers to cover the letters on the sheet as they find them.

Supplies Needed:

This activity requires very little prep. Print the pages and cut out the cards. You can also laminate the cards for more durability.
Don’t want to prep the egg letter cards? No problem! Use an alphabet manipulative like letter tiles or letter magnets. If you do that, this activity requires no prep. Just print the mats, and you will be ready to go!
How to Use this Easter Letter Recognition Activity
Place the pile of egg letter cards in front of your students. They will pull one card at a time and determine which uppercase letter they see. Then, they will locate the matching lowercase letter on their Easter egg mat and color it in (or cover it up). They continue drawing cards until all of their letters are colored or covered!
Want to add even more fun to this activity? Hide the egg cards all over the room and have your students go on an Easter egg alphabet hunt to find the letters. They will love this fun approach to learning letters, and it’s a great way to get them up and moving while learning this Easter!
Many kids can do this independently because of the simple and easy-to-follow steps, making it perfect for your literacy centers or independent morning work. It can also be differentiated for many levels and abilities and modified for kids who don’t like coloring.
