The CVC clip cards are so easy to implement within your classroom! They require little prep work and time from you but will create tons of practice for early readers! Keep reading for ideas of how to use them in your classroom.
The student will look at the picture and sound out the three CVC word options. They will, then, put a clothespin on the CVC word they believe is correct. Using the clothespins helps build their hand muscles and makes it easy for you to quickly check their answers.
Preparing the CVC Clip Cards
Supplies Needed:
- clip cards
- clothespins or clips
Instructions:
- Print the cards. There are 4 cards per page.
- Cut the cards apart.
- Laminate the cards.
- Slide the cards and clothespins or clips into a baggie or tray for easy storage and grab and go access.
Simply print, cut, and laminate! And you are ready to go! Clip cards are great for their ease of use and make a great addition to your resources in your classroom.
CVC Clip Cards in the Classroom
Students will practice reading these simple CVC words by sounding out the words and placing their clip on the word that matches the picture. They can be printed in color or black and white. The students will practice letter sounds and word families with these clip cards.
