Using the Ice Cream Themed Alphabet Activity
Students will pick a card and identify the letter on it and the sound that letter makes. They will then find the picture that starts with the letter and place a clothespin on it. This continues until all the cards have been completed. Students will get hands-on practice identifying initial sounds and matching them to the letter that makes that sound.
Students could use this ice cream themed alphabet activity during centers or small group instruction. They are perfect for pre-k and kindergarten students to practice identifying letters and sounds in words.
Make them self-checking by putting a sticker on the back of the card over the correct answer. Once students clip the card, they can turn it over to see if they found the right picture. Plus, all your learners are getting great fine motor practice while using clothespins!
