Snowman Beginning Sounds Write the Room Alphabet Activity
Learning the letters of the alphabet can be challenging for some students, so you must try all kinds of activities to engage multiple areas of their brains. I love this write the room activity because it allows students to move while practicing letter recognition and beginning sounds. They will also practice writing letters on the recording sheets.
This resource comes with cute snowman head cards that feature a picture on them. The students will identify the picture, then determine the beginning sound. Lastly, they will find the corresponding letter and photo and write the letter. Then, they will put the letter back and move around the room to find the next letter card.
Low Prep Work
These snowman beginning sound cards are low prep for you and will make your literacy centers a hit this winter. They can be printed in color or black and white. There are two types of recording sheets too. The first one has traceable letters, and the second one is blank for extra practice.

How to Play
Hide the cards around the room. Once students have a clipboard, students will walk around the room looking for the cards. When they come to a picture card, they will identify the picture that is on the card. Then they will isolate the beginning sound. Next, they will find the letter on the top left of the card and locate that same letter on the recording sheet. Once they find the letter on the recording sheet, they will write the letter sound in the space provided. Then students will continue until they fill in all the areas on the recording sheet.
