How to Play the Game

Students will roll the die and move the amount of spaces indicated. Once they land on a space, they read the word aloud to their partner.

Their partner will double-check to make sure they are correct. Then, it’s their turn to roll and read. Players take turns until one of them gets to the ending space.

Other Ideas to Play the Game

To provide added practice with writing and spelling words, students could write down the words they landed on or their favorite word(s) on the game board.

More advanced students could write words that rhyme with the spaces they land on. They could also use one word in a sentence at the end of each game.

Students who need more support could play the games during small group instruction.

This game board would work great for literacy centers, fast finishers, tutoring, and more!
