How to Use the Letter Activity
This game is very easy to use. Students roll their dice, find the letter assigned to that number and then find a picture that begins with the sound that letter makes.
Next, they will mark their answer with a manipulative or dry-erase marker. The kids can also color the correct answer for extra fine motor skills.
Students can play with a partner or independently, so this game is versatile for centers, morning work and small group time.
If students are playing independently, they will try to cover the whole game board – rolling and covering corresponding pictures until they have covered every space.
If students are playing with a partner, each one will get a different color or type of manipulative. Then they will take turns rolling the dice and covering corresponding beginning sound pictures. The first player to cover 4 spaces in a row, wins!
