Low Prep Butterfly Alphabet Activity
These butterfly alphabet clip cards are so easy to prep for your students, and it won’t take long to have them ready for your alphabet stations or literacy centers.
You will need to gather some clothespins or other clips for the students to clip to the picture that matches the letter. I like this style because they are colorful and smaller in size, just right for little learners.
Once you have the resource on your computer, you will print the clip cards. Then, cut them apart and laminate them for durability. Store in a large bag or tray with the clothespins, and you are ready to go.

Setting Up the Alphabet Clip Cards

- Clothespins, clips, or paperclips
- Scissors
Directions:
- Print the cards. There are four cards per page.
- Laminate the cards.
- Cut the cards apart.
- Slide the cards and clothespins or clips into a baggie or tray for easy storage and grab-and-go access.
Using the Butterfly Theme Alphabet Activity
Students will pick a card and identify the letter on it. They will then find the picture that starts with the letter and place a clothespin on it. This continues until all the cards have been completed.
Students could use this butterfly theme alphabet activity during centers or small group instruction. They are perfect for preschool and kindergarten students to practice identifying letters and sounds in words.
