Digital Spring Sight Word Mats
Students will use Google Slides™ through Google Classroom™ or another online learning platform to learn sight words with this interactive digital activity.
Fry’s first 50 are included in this set. The words are embedded into the mats, so you can not change or edit them. However, you can easily delete any slides you don’t need or want your students to use.
This makes it very easy for you to differentiate for students. Simply delete the slides a student doesn’t need and keep the ones they do.
Students will use the digital sight word mats to practice reading words, typing words, and building words.
This makes the activity fun and engaging for students!
Setting Up the Activity in Google Slides
The download includes a detailed guide with instructions and pictures on how to use the file with you students, but it is quite simple to do.
If you are a instructor or teacher, you will want to copy the Google slides assignment to your Google Drive and save it as a master copy.
After that, you will need to create an assignment for each student and attach this Google Slides doc.
Once it has been uploaded, make sure that you click the dropdown next to the attachment. Pick the “Make a copy for each student” option.
Using this Digital Sight Word Activity
There are visual instructions for students to refer to before starting the activity.
Then they will go to the first word building mat and read the word in the top box.
Next, they will double click on the type it box and type the word into it.
Finally, they will drag over the letter tiles needed to spell the word and they will build the word in the bottom space on the mat.
This continues through each slide you have assigned your students.
