Using the Printable Easter Math Game
To play this roll and cover math game, students will roll the die and count the dots. They will find the corresponding number on the Easter egg mat and cover it with a manipulative. They will roll again and continue until all the numbers are covered on the egg.
To play with two dice, students will roll both dice and count the dots. Then they will find the sum and cover the number with a small manipulative. Play continues until all the numbers are covered.
You could also turn the mats into roll and color mats by having the students color the circle with a dry-erase marker if you don’t want to use manipulatives.
Another option is to use play dough to cover the spots on the mat. This builds fine motor muscles too!
Any option will add lots of fun, hands-on learning to your math centers this spring!
Students can play with a partner and use two different colors to cover the numbers on the egg.
Need to make it more difficult? Have students use a recording sheet to write down their addition sentences. Or have them fill in ten frames to match the number that they rolled. They could also just write numbers to practice number recognition and number formation.
