Ending Digraphs Word Building

This fun phonics activity is an interactive way for your students to read and spell words with ending digraphs.

Students will build words like “fish,” “duck” and “beach.”

The slides show a picture of the word and the text of the word without the ending digraph included.

Students will interact with the slides by dragging the virtual digraph letter tiles over to the box and finishing off the word illustrated on the slides.

This gives them lots of practice with reading and spelling words that have ending digraphs.

Students will look at the picture on the slide and determine the name of the object pictured.

Google Slides and Seesaw activity for teaching digraphs in first or second grade.

The Google Slides and Seesaw files both have the following ending digraphs: -SH, -TH, -CH, -CK. The Seesaw version has 2 less words for every digraph because they limit the number of slides that are allowed.

This continues through all of the slides.

The last several slides of the activity include an answer key so that students or parents can easily check their work. You can always delete the slides, if you don’t want them included.

I hope your students have lots of fun learning to read and spell words with ending digraphs!
