Fall Fine Motor Mats
If your kids could use some extra fine motor practice, these fall fine motor mats will be perfect for you. They require no-prep, so all you need to do is print and slip into write and wipe pockets.
Your kids will love making fun pictures with pom poms this fall. And while they are doing so, they will be strengthening those important fine motor muscles.
I also added in some counting practice, so your kids will be developing fine motor skills while they practice counting too. Win-win!

- 1″ Pom Poms in a variety of colors
- Fine motor tools such as these gator grabbers, or these squeezy tweezers or just use a small chip clip like we did.
- Write and wipe pockets
Tip: I ended up getting a bunch of pom pom packs at Michael’s craft store since we can never have enough pom poms.
Using the Fall Fine Motor Mats
Students will use a fine motor tool or their finger tips to place the pom poms on the mat – making sure to match the colors to the correct space on the mat.
This will continue until all of the spots on the mat have been covered with a matching pom pom.
Then students will count how many pom poms there are of each color on the mat and write them in the spaces at the bottom.
That’s it. Have fun developing fine motor skills this fall!
