Encourage students to say the words pictures out loud, so that they can listen for the words that rhyme with each other. You can even ask them to say the word on the fish before they say each word on the strip to see if they can hear the rhyme.
This activity will give them a hands-on and engaging way to practice this important skill.
Learning to Rhyme
Make the cards self-checking by adding a small dot or sticker to the back of the card to mark the correct choice. When students have made their choice, they can flip the card over to check if they were right.
They are perfect for kindergarten and first-grade students to practice independently, with a partner, or in a small group. You can even utilize them during whole group instruction.
