With 20 colorful ice cream cone cards, students identify and add the missing sound in a variety of CVC words.
How to Use the Cards
Students begin by looking at the picture on the ice cream scoop and saying the word out loud.
Next, they isolate the missing sound. Is it the beginning sound, middle vowel, or ending sound?
Finally, they complete the word at the bottom of the cone by writing the correct letter or adding a letter manipulative like a letter bead.
Because the missing sounds vary, students get practice with all positions in a word.
