Setting Up the Alphabet Letter Identification Task Cards

Supplies Needed:

  • Alphabet Letter Recognition Task Cards (button to get them at the bottom of this post)
  • Mini erasers or snap cubes
  • Scissors to cut out the cards

Directions:

  1. Print the cards.
  2. Laminate the cards.
  3. Cut the cards apart.
  4. Gather manipulatives.
  5. Store the entire activity in a large baggie or these task card boxes.

Differentiated Alphabet Letter Recognition Activity

Students will take an alphabet task card and look at the uppercase and lowercase letters that are at the top of the card on the apple.

Then they will try to find instances of that letter all around the card. Each card has two uppercase versions of the letter and two lowercase versions of the letter. So students will need to cover four letters per card.

You can differentiate this activity by choosing letters that your students are currently learning or letters that they already know. You can also choose the number of letters your students will work on at a time.
