Learning CVC Words
This digital CVC teaching resource includes 18 slides of pictures for your students to practice CVC words with. This gives them valuable practice with building and reading CVC words.
To play, students will look at the picture on the ornament beside the Christmas tree. Then, they will determine what the picture is and use the red ornaments on the side of the screen to build the CVC word. They will drag and drop the ornaments in the correct order to build the word on the Christmas tree. This brings in a hands-on learning element to this digital activity.
Students will repeat this process until all of their slides are complete! The best part about this activity is that it can easily be differentiated. Some students may be ready to complete all of the slides. Other students may need to work on fewer slides to start.
You can assign different slides to different students or small groups of students. You can even mix the slides up if certain students need to focus on a particular short vowel sound. As students become successful at each level, they will work their way up to completing all of the slides in a mixed order.
If students are ready to be challenged even more, they can write the word in a sentence on a recording sheet or write all of the CVC words in alphabetical order. The possibilities are endless!
This activity is great for students in kindergarten through second grade, depending on skill level.
