L-Blends Word Work
Give your students practice reading and spelling words with beginning l-blends in a hands-on, interactive way.
Students will build words like “clock,” “plane” and “flowers.”
The slides show a picture of the word and the text of the word minus the beginning blend.
Students will interact with the slides by dragging the virtual blend tiles over to the box and completing the word illustrated on the slides.
This gives them lots of practice with reading and spelling beginning l-blend words.

Using the Beginning L-Blends Activity
Students will look at the picture on the slide and determine the name of the object pictured.
Then they they will look for the missing beginning blend on the right side of the slide.
Once they have found the blend needed to complete the word, they will drag the tile over and finish making the word. Then they will read the word out loud.
This continues through all of the slides you have assigned.
The last slide of the activity includes an answer key so that students or parents can easily check their work. You can always delete the slide, if you don’t want it included.
