This freebie teaches number sense to preschool and kindergarten students using ten-frames, twenty-frames and numerals. Add them to your math centers for fun number learning.

Super Simple Prep for Students!
This rainbow theme number sense activity is so easy to prep! Just print it out and cut the ten frame cards apart. Then, laminate them so students can use them more than once throughout the year. Store them in Ziploc baggies or mesh zippered pouches.
The recording sheets need no setup. Once you have prepped ten frame cards, you can just print and play.
Setting Up the Spring Number Sense Activity

Supplies Needed:
- Rainbow Ten Frames & Matching Cards (button to download at the bottom of this post)
- Crayons or pencils
- Clipboards
- Write and wipe pockets (optional)
Directions:
- Print the ten frame cards and the student worksheets.
- Tape or pin the cards around the room for students to find.
- Give each child a worksheet, writing utensil, and clipboard.
- Let kids hunt for each ten frame or twenty frame and color the matching numeral on their worksheet.
Using this Rainbow Number Hunt Activity
This activity is super simple for students to use. They will walk around the room looking for the ten-frame or twenty-frame cards. Once they find a card, they will subitize or count the dots in the cloud ten-frame. They will color the matching dot with the numeral on it and look for the other ten-frame cards.
This tool is excellent for an early childhood classroom because students can practice numbers 0-20. Counting practice tasks is essential in the early years, so giving students fun, engaging ways to develop these skills is crucial. This one also has the added benefit of getting them up and moving.

This rainbow find and cover the number activity provides an excellent way for students to move around the room while getting practice with counting and number recognition. There are several ways to differentiate it for your students.
Students who don’t enjoy coloring can cross off the numbers as they find them. Another option is to provide them with manipulatives to mark the numbers they find!
You can also slide the sheets into page protectors and give students dry-erase markers to use on them.
Students who need even more challenge can write the numerals next to each dot as they find them. Or they could write the number word.
