Spring Butterfly & Bee Find and Color Sheets
Quick! Grab these butterfly and bee find and color the letter sheets to work on letter recognition and uppercase to lowercase letter matching this spring! They are perfect for alphabet centers!
Insect Find and Color the Letters Activity
The amazing thing about these free printable find and color pages is that they can be differentiated for students at a variety of levels.
These butterfly and spring bee find and color activities are offered on color or black-and-white sheets. Then, there are printable flower cards with corresponding uppercase letters. I have also included two sets of picture cards with beginning sounds to match each letter.
This allows for simple differentiation. Students working on letter identification can use the letter cards, and students ready to work on letter sounds and beginning sound isolation can use the picture cards. In addition, you can mix them up and use both. There are lots of ways to use this resource to work on phonics skills!
This activity is perfect for teaching upper and lowercase letter recognition with preschool and kindergarten students during small groups or independent center times.
If you have students who don’t like to color, try this!
Place the insect pages into write and wipe pockets or laminate them. Then, give the students a dry-erase marker to cross off the letters they find instead of coloring them.
I also included two full-color mats for students to use manipulatives on. Give them snap cubes or counters to cover the letters on the sheet as they find them. They will love the colorful bee and butterfly options!

How to Use this Spring Alphabet Activity
Place the pile of flower letter cards in front of your students. They will pull one card at a time and determine which uppercase letter they see. Then, they will locate the matching lowercase letter on their mat and color it in (or cover it up). They continue drawing cards until all of their letters are colored or covered!
Want to add even more fun to this activity? Hide the flower cards all over the room and have your students go on an alphabet hunt to find the letters. They will love this fun approach to learning letters and it’s a great way to get them up and moving while learning!
This is also a fun activity for kids reading books about insects in spring or learning about the life cycle of butterflies or bees! Teach them fun facts about insects and use this activity simultaneously to work on phonics!
Many kids can do this independently because of the simple and easy-to-follow steps, making it perfect for your literacy centers or independent morning work. It can also be differentiated for many levels and abilities and modified for kids who don’t like coloring.
