Expanding the Use of the Digital Task Cards
This download is an awesome resource to use on the computer but did you know you could also print it out? The mat could easily be printed in black and white if coloring printing isn’t an option. One idea would be to print and add magnetic letters to create a hands-on phonics activity. You could, also, cut the picture cards apart and create a sorting activity. The students could sort the pictures into the correct digraph category. Another idea is to slide the printed mats into a wipe and write pocket and have the student write the digraph on the picture with a dry erase marker.
More advanced students could use letter tiles to build the words. They could even write a sentence containing the digraph words. Struggling students may be overwhelmed with completing 3 mats in one assignment so you could shorten their assignment.
I hope your students enjoy these digital digraph words matching mats as much as my class did. They will be experts at digraphs in no time! If you need some blending activities, check out our digital blend words matching mats.
