Benefits of the Blend Word Mats
Once it is open, they will see 2 mats that have 9 pictures each. Down one side, there are the blend words for the student to drag and drop onto the correct picture. The students will need to make each letter sound, blend the sounds together, and then match it to the picture. Super simple for your students to use!
Use these word work cards for early finishers in the classroom to provide them with extra reading practice while staying occupied and not bothering the working students. These blend word picture cards would be great for a literacy center activity too! For your struggling students, some of the word cards could be removed or already placed on the correct picture; that way they don’t feel so overwhelmed with the number of words they have to read.
